A lot has happened in the past few months. We finished 111th and Roberts, planned and hosted a red carpet book release event and then watched as the class of 2016 graduated. We weren't surprised that two of our very own VOW students, Grace Garbrecht and Cheyanne Daniels, were chosen to speak at graduation or that even our Superintendent and Principal Olsen couldn't help but mention the power of stories in their own speeches. This year has taught us so much and thanks to the incredibly hard work of our students, VOW and 111th and Roberts have reminded all of us of the importance of starting conversations, sharing stories and the power each of us has to make the world around us a better place.
We will miss our VOW class of 2016, but we know the amazing work they started will continue with next year's class. The class of 2017 may have some pretty big shoes to fill, but the class of 2016 has shown them what a class community of dedicated students willing to take risks and ask important questions can accomplish.
Best of luck class of 2016! We're so proud of you!
